Minutes from downtown Novato, this spacious home with 18-foot ceilings is ideal for large-scale entertaining. With or without guests, here is an ultimate retreat that is extraordinarily quiet and secluded.

Step inside and find the spacious remodeled kitchen that features a large island, new SubZero refrigerator and Wolf Range. Both large living rooms (each with its own wood-burning fireplace), as well as the primary bedroom and upstairs library feature new sliding picture window doors that carry Andersen’s lifetime warranty. Other upgrades include a dual-heat HVAC system complemented by an insulated McClaren roof (2023). New state-of-the-art solar panels are integrated with four Ensave backup batteries. A separate solar panel system heats the pool. The dedicated exercise room includes a cable gym, rowing machine and spin bike. Step into the built-in dry sauna after your workout. And then back out to the deck and pool.

Just off the pool deck is an expansive field that is filled with possibilities for large planter boxes, fruit trees plus fun and games. An adjacent upper hillside terrace provides one more vantage point to watch sunlight paint the canyon and distant hillsides with daybreak and sunset colors.

Only 29 minutes north of the Golden Gate Bridge*, this rare 2-acre hillside property abutting pristine open space is ready to delight and reboot your mind and body.

Neighborhood

Located in the rolling hills and valleys of northern Marin County, Novato is the second-largest community in the county. Formerly known as a gateway to the Wine Country, Novato is increasingly being discovered as a destination in its own right. The reasons: great weather, a lively downtown, and homes that provide the best value in Marin.
Upscale housing includes the luxury homes of Black Point, Club, Pt. Marin, Bel Marin Keys, Alameda Del Prado, and Indian Valley Road.
Big-box shopping is concentrated in the Vintage Oaks Shopping Center, which houses a Costco, a Target, and a Macy's Furniture, among other businesses. Downtown, a beautification program has brought new life to the businesses along Grant Avenue. The downtown area is alive with a Tuesday evening farmers market, outdoor movies, parades, and art and wine festivals.
In the '90s, military base Hamilton Field was converted to new housing and a business park. The former hangars now house cutting-edge biotech companies, digital development companies, the Marin Museum of Contemporary Art, and more than 40 art studios. Novato is also headquarters of large insurance company Fireman's Fund, as well as the Buck Institute, a research organization that focuses solely on aging.
